Scriptures
Torah: Parshat Bo, 3rd Portion (Shemot (Exodus) 10:24-11:3)

Exodus 10:24-11:3
English Standard Version
24 Then Pharaoh called Moses and said, “Go, serve the Lord; your little ones also may go with you; only let your flocks and your herds remain behind.” 25 But Moses said, “You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. 26 Our livestock also must go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we must take of them to serve the Lord our God, and we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.” 27 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go. 28 Then Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.” 29 Moses said, “As you say! I will not see your face again.”
Exodus 11
A Final Plague Threatened
1 The Lord said to Moses, “Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely. 2 Speak now in the hearing of the people, that they ask, every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor, for silver and gold jewelry.” 3 And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people.

Last Night's Reading
Exodus 29-31

Bible in a Year
Job 8-10; Matthew19:16-30; Proverbs 3:11-20

Job 9
13 God will not withdraw His anger, The allies of [m]the proud lie prostrate beneath Him.
14 “How then can I answer Him, And choose my words to reason with Him?
15 For though I were righteous, I could not answer Him; I would beg mercy of my Judge.
16 If I called and He answered me, I would not believe that He was listening to my voice.
17 For He crushes me with a tempest, And multiplies my wounds without cause.
18 He will not allow me to catch my breath, But fills me with bitterness.
19 If it is a matter of strength, indeed He is strong; And if of justice, who will appoint my day in court?
20 Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me; Though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.
21 “I am blameless, yet I do not know myself; I despise my life.
22 It is all one thing; Therefore I say, ‘He destroys the blameless and the wicked.’
23 If the scourge slays suddenly, He laughs at the plight of the innocent.
24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of its judges. If it is not He, who else could it be?
34 Let Him take His rod away from me, And do not let dread of Him terrify me.
35 Then I would speak and not fear Him, But it is not so with me.

Job 10

8 ‘Your hands have made me and fashioned me, An intricate unity; Yet You would destroy me.
9 Remember, I pray, that You have made me like clay. And will You turn me into dust again?
10 Did You not pour me out like milk, And curdle me like cheese,
11 Clothe me with skin and flesh, And knit me together with bones and sinews?
12 You have granted me life and favor, And Your care has preserved my spirit.
13 ‘And these things You have hidden in Your heart; I know that this was with You:
14 If I sin, then You mark me, And will not acquit me of my iniquity.
15 If I am wicked, woe to me; Even if I am righteous, I [r]cannot lift up my head.
I am full of disgrace; See my misery!
16 If my head is exalted, You hunt me like a fierce lion,
And again You show Yourself awesome against me.
17 You renew Your witnesses against me, And increase Your indignation toward me;
Changes and war are ever with me.
18 ‘Why then have You brought me out of the womb? Oh, that I had perished and no eye had seen me!
19 I would have been as though I had not been. I would have been carried from the womb to the grave.
20 Are not my days few? Cease! Leave me alone, that I may take a little comfort,
21 Before I go to the place from which I shall not return, To the land of darkness and the shadow of death,
22 A land as dark as darkness itself, As the shadow of death, without any order,
Where even the light is like darkness.’ ”

Matthew 19:16-30

English Standard Version
The Rich Young Man
16 And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” 17 And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, 19 Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man said to him, “All these I have kept. What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” 27 Then Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world,[a] when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold[b] and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

Proverbs 3:11-20
English Standard Version
11 My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof,
12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

Blessed Is the One Who Finds Wisdom
13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,
14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.
19 The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;
20 by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Observation
Job - The LORD was hard on Job, but GOD never intended to do harm to Job or to punish him because Job was loved, in fact GOD was proud of Job and because GOD boasted of his servant Job to the enemy, that is when his troubles came to him like a whirlwind! But GOD was proven right about Job and so GOD blessed Job even more than he was before when he began. Proverbs gives a command to never despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof, because GOD always corrects those whom HE loves as a father to a son who GOD is delighted with and it was the same with Job, GOD corrected Job in the end, about how he understood GOD because there was an error on his outlook but Job was never punished. His friends assume that GOD was punishing Job but they were wrong.

Application
I will keep on looking to GOD, I will keep on depending on GOD, relying on GOD, fearing GOD and trusting in HIM for HE is worthy of my trust and HE knows exactly what HE is doing and whatever HE is doing is always for our good. I have learned to trust GOD to give me my heart's desire in HIS appointed time because HE makes all things beautiful in HIS time. I thank GOD that even when I brought Dad to a professional Ortho yesterday that GOD was there, that HE met us there, and that there was nothing to be afraid of, he just needs to do his regular rehabilitation of his hips and muscles.
