Torah: Parshat Vayikra, 2nd Portion (Vayikra (Leviticus) 1:14-2:6)
Leviticus 1:14-2:6
English Standard Version
14 “If his offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves or pigeons. 15 And the priest shall bring it to the altar and wring off its head and burn it on the altar. Its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar. 16 He shall remove its crop with its contents[a] and cast it beside the altar on the east side, in the place for ashes. 17 He shall tear it open by its wings, but shall not sever it completely. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
Jesus' Mother and Brothers
19 Then his mother and his brothers[a] came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. 20 And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.” 21 But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
Jesus Calms a Storm
22 One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out, 23 and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. 24 And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”
Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon
26 Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes,[b] which is opposite Galilee. 27 When Jesus[c] had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house but among the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.” 29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.) 30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged him not to command them to depart into the abyss. 32 Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. 33 Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.
34 When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. 36 And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed[d] man had been healed. 37 Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.

Here and Now
I woke up by myself a little before my alarm went off at 5:30 because I just stayed in bed enjoying my rest. I am getting used to my old room, that I left so that my parents could sleep in the TV Room. I have so many things to do or worry about but I will let GOD take care of me because HE is my FATHER, Husband who loves me very much. HE cares about me more than I care about myself and the people I care about. HE is HOLY and Faithful!

Laws for Grain Offerings
2 “When anyone brings a grain offering as an offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. He shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it 2 and bring it to Aaron's sons the priests. And he shall take from it a handful of the fine flour and oil, with all of its frankincense, and the priest shall burn this as its memorial portion on the altar, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 3 But the rest of the grain offering shall be for Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the Lord's food offerings.
4 “When you bring a grain offering baked in the oven as an offering, it shall be unleavened loaves of fine flour mixed with oil or unleavened wafers smeared with oil. 5 And if your offering is a grain offering baked on a griddle, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mixed with oil. 6 You shall break it in pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.

Psalm 39
English Standard Version
What Is the Measure of My Days?
To the choirmaster: to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
1 I said, “I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue;
I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence.”
2 I was mute and silent; I held my peace to no avail, and my distress grew worse.
3 My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting I am!
5 Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you.
Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah
6 Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing[a] they are in turmoil;
man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!
7 “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool!
9 I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it.
10 Remove your stroke from me; I am spent by the hostility of your hand.
11 When you discipline a man with rebukes for sin, you consume like a moth what is dear to him;
surely all mankind is a mere breath! Selah
12 “Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears!
For I am a sojourner with you, a guest, like all my fathers.
13 Look away from me, that I may smile again, before I depart and am no more!”

Observation
The man who met JESUS in Luke 8 was the Scripture that Joseph Lavina had preached yesterday at church. From his preaching I learned that when we truly meet our Savior, we are healed and when we are healed, we want to follow HIM and serve HIM because HE has given us a new life a life of hope and love. But some men, who do not know the LORD are afraid of JESUS because they do not want to change their lives, they do not need HIM as much as the men with unclean spirits needed HIM. Right now my state is like that of the disciples in the boat panicking because of the many waves of challenges rocking my world. But if I panic or begin to feel worry about the many things going wrong around me, GOD will ask me where is my faith?
Application
My Faith is in GOD and I will ask GOD, pray to GOD, wake HIM up, tug at HIM, call on HIM, until HE rebukes the winds of troubles in my life and I am still. I am asking GOD to provide me a new book keeper by tomorrow for Leah who will do her SOI for her, I am asking GOD for a new helper who will replace the 3 leaving our home, I am asking GOD for strength and grace, peace to prepare my heart to lead worship on Sunday, I am asking GOD to study Accounting, in a school where I will get a diploma by the end of the year. I am asking GOD for every need and worry in my life, that HE will meet every need, provide for me, solve all my problems because GOD is everything, HE is my everything! I want to trust GOD, and I hope in HIM. HE will make a way for me. HE will do what I cannot! HE will do more than what I ask, but first of all, HE will give me peace because HE will silence all my fears.
Prayers
Dear AVI,
O GREAT and AWESOME and Almighty GOD YOU are HOLY and Faithful and True and I put my trust and my faith in YOU. I hope in YOU O GOD to help me and keep helping me with everything that I am facing with. Every challenge every worry every sigh, everything that moves me, I bring to YOUR attention, I lay at YOUR feet and I ask YOU to help me KING JESUS.I want to thank YOU LORD that yesterday YOU have answered my prayers for Mam Leah by allowing Mom to let her loan the rest of the equity that she cannot pay yet. I thank YOU so much for answering me on a Sunday that is not even a work day. I thank YOU that as I continue to cast all my burdens to YOU, YOU lift them up for me. I continue to lay down our needs to YOU O GOD. O LORD YOU know our need, we need 2 helpers to manage the household, clean, wash and cook for us. Please O LORD provide for us. O LORD please provide me a good accountant or someone like Cherry who will be loyal and faithful to me, whom I can send to school. I don't know what he/she looks like but I am praying for someone I can rely on with accounting works. Please O GOD right now Mam Leah needs a book keeper, I don't want it to be Anacel because she will talk to Jonathan. But I pray O GOD if YOU want it to be Anacel then give me peace about it, and lead me to talk to her, silence all my doubts and fears. O GOD, I pray for someone who could be able to help me with everything I am doing. I pray O GOD, YOU know all that I am going through, please be with me everyday, every hour, every minutes, speak to my heart and mind and be my security and comfort. I understand no man could ever replace YOU in my life because YOU are GOD and YOU are a very loving Husband and FATHER to me, but I also need a husband. I do not know what he looks like, if he will bring tears to my eyes, if he will make my life sadder than it already is, sometimes I fear what he would be like, if he will hurt me like the others will hurt me. But LORD a husband is not what I need right now, it is a book keeper, a teacher or a school, so help me GOD. I pray O GOD help me....Send me people to help me FATHER. I pray for YOUR grace upon me O GOD, give me the right thoughts and emotions, do not let me doubt or overthink the actions of people. I pray O GOD help me KING JESUS. I lay everything at YOUR feet my whole being. Please GOD give me the wisdom, the hope, the inspiration, the encouragement that I need to face today, tomorrow and every day for the rest of my life. I need YOU O GOD Almighty! Have Mercy on me!!! Fill me with YOUR HOLY SPIRIT and lead me to the right people, lead me all the days of my life. For unto YOU belong all the glory all the honor the power and praise!!!
