Here and Now

Scriptures
Torah Parshat Naso, 1st Portion (Bamidbar (Numbers) 4:21-4:28)

Numbers 4:21-28
English Standard Version
21 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 22 “Take a census of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers' houses and by their clans. 23 From thirty years old up to fifty years old, you shall list them, all who can come to do duty, to do service in the tent of meeting. 24 This is the service of the clans of the Gershonites, in serving and bearing burdens: 25 they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting with its covering and the covering of goatskin that is on top of it and the screen for the entrance of the tent of meeting 26 and the hangings of the court and the screen for the entrance of the gate of the court that is around the tabernacle and the altar, and their cords and all the equipment for their service. And they shall do all that needs to be done with regard to them. 27 All the service of the sons of the Gershonites shall be at the command of Aaron and his sons, in all that they are to carry and in all that they have to do. And you shall assign to their charge all that they are to carry. 28 This is the service of the clans of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting, and their guard duty is to be under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

Job 21
Job Replies: The Wicked Do Prosper
1 Then Job answered and said:
2 “Keep listening to my words, and let this be your comfort.
3 Bear with me, and I will speak, and after I have spoken, mock on.
4 As for me, is my complaint against man? Why should I not be impatient?
5 Look at me and be appalled, and lay your hand over your mouth.
6 When I remember, I am dismayed, and shuddering seizes my flesh.
7 Why do the wicked live, reach old age, and grow mighty in power?
8 Their offspring are established in their presence, and their descendants before their eyes.
9 Their houses are safe from fear, and no rod of God is upon them.
10 Their bull breeds without fail; their cow calves and does not miscarry.
11 They send out their little boys like a flock, and their children dance.
12 They sing to the tambourine and the lyre and rejoice to the sound of the pipe.
13 They spend their days in prosperity, and in peace they go down to Sheol.
14 They say to God, ‘Depart from us! We do not desire the knowledge of your ways.
15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit do we get if we pray to him?’
16 Behold, is not their prosperity in their hand? The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
17 “How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? That their calamity comes upon them?
That God[c] distributes pains in his anger?
18 That they are like straw before the wind, and like chaff that the storm carries away?
19 You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their children.’
Let him pay it out to them, that they may know it.
20 Let their own eyes see their destruction, and let them drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21 For what do they care for their houses after them, when the number of their months is cut off?
22 Will any teach God knowledge, seeing that he judges those who are on high?
23 One dies in his full vigor, being wholly at ease and secure,
24 his pails[d] full of milk and the marrow of his bones moist.
25 Another dies in bitterness of soul, never having tasted of prosperity.
26 They lie down alike in the dust, and the worms cover them.
27 “Behold, I know your thoughts and your schemes to wrong me.
28 For you say, ‘Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’
29 Have you not asked those who travel the roads, and do you not accept their testimony
30 that the evil man is spared in the day of calamity, that he is rescued in the day of wrath?
31 Who declares his way to his face, and who repays him for what he has done?
32 When he is carried to the grave, watch is kept over his tomb.
33 The clods of the valley are sweet to him; all mankind follows after him,
and those who go before him are innumerable.
34 How then will you comfort me with empty nothings?
There is nothing left of your answers but falsehood.”

Bible in A Year
2 Samuel 1-2; John 20:10-31; Proverbs 13:20-25; Proverbs14:1-4

John 20:10-30
English Standard Version
10 Then the disciples went back to their homes.
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
11 But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. 13 They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14 Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic,[a] “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her.
Jesus Appears to the Disciples
19 On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”
Jesus and Thomas
24 Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin,[c] was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”
26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
The Purpose of This Book
30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Proverbs 13:20-25
English Standard Version
20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
21 Disaster[a] pursues sinners, but the righteous are rewarded with good.
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children,
but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous.
23 The fallow ground of the poor would yield much food, but it is swept away through injustice.
24 Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
25 The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite, but the belly of the wicked suffers want.

Observation
Thomas called the Twin was not with the rest of the disciples when JESUS appeared to them, and so he was called the doubting Thomas because he would not believe even his own fellow brothers of what they had seen, experienced and reported to him. Thomas was not only doubting but he desired and wanted a personal encounter with JESUS just as his brothers did. He only wanted to experience what they experienced, and so JESUS appeared to him because GOD wanted to meet his desires, even though he was doubtful and would not want to believe until he himself touched HIM.

Application
I was so glad that GOD was not offended by the doubtfulness of Thomas, because if HE was, HE would not show HIMSELF especially for Thomas and let him touch His side and His pierced hands. I don't ever want to doubt GOD and offend HIM but if Thomas did not offend HIM it only meant that Thomas intention was to experience GOD first hand Himself and GOD loves this kinds of request, HE cannot resists this kinds of desires that want to experience HIM that is why HE shows HIMSELF to those who want to experience HIM. I will desire and request for an encounter and experience with GOD and I pray this to be the desire of GOD's people in church and that those attending the Encounter this week will truly encounter GOD in a most amazing way!

Prayers
Dear AVI,
Blessed are YOU LORD and GOD Almighty JESUS KING of the Universe! YOU are HOLY, faithful and true and there is None like YOU! Thank YOU LORD for speaking to me today about Thomas, YOU know I really have thought of him negatively in the past for the way he was doubtful to YOU but the fact that YOU showed YOURSELF to HIM meant that YOU were not offended by HIM but YOU wanted HIM to believe like the rest of HIS brothers. Today YOU are speaking to me about the only Thomas I know in my life, I have not communicated with him, but I know he exists since my highschool days, I forgot that he was even the math wizard, genius, I forgot him because he didn't mean anything to me, he was ordinary, nothing special in my eyes... until YOU have given me a dream of him on the 22nd of May, and I was mostly fascinated because I never thought of him as anything until that day that I had to find him on instagram and now YOU are speaking to me about his name specifically and I don't know what to do, but to wait on YOU. I'm not trying to resist this man YOU are showing me, in the past I did, and he must have felt it but today, I open my heart and mind to the possibility that he could be the one YOU have chosen for me because he has been the One who first knew who I was, who first felt, who first believed from YOU because YOU planted it in his heart first. Yes GOD! I want to say YES to YOU and to whatever YOU want to do with Thomas and me. I want to say YES to YOU answering the long time prayers and desires of his heart. I want to say YES because he loves YOU and he has proven it by staying single and true to himself many years. I pray fill him with the HOLY SPIRIT right now! Fill him with YOUR TRUTH and power to do whatever YOU want to do with Thomas Yiu and me too! I pray for an alignment of our hearts, our spirits, our bodies, our paths. Align us so that YOU will be glorified in our lives. Align us if YOU have planned for us to be together. I pray let YOUR kingdom come and YOUR will be done. I pray for YOUR people today to worship YOU in Spirit and in Truth, I pray that our hearts be open and minds fixed on YOU so that YOU will come and dwell in our midsts O GOD, fill us once again with the power of the HOLY GHOST O GOD we need a fresh touch from YOU O GOD, please take care of us have YOUR way in all of us. And I pray that everyone will experience YOU first hand in our Sanctuary down to the days of our Encounter. Help us to fast and prepare for the swift coming of YOUR RUACH HAKODESH, I welcome YOU, come have YOUR Way in me, in my family, in all that YOU want to come into and all that we do. O GOD, I pray deliver save and restore Jeah and Janie Rose Gulfan, bring them into the center of YOUR Will for them. I pray O GOD, save us all, heal us continually my Dad, Mom and all our entire family and set us apart for YOUR glory and purpose, help us to live pure and holy lives before YOU, so that we can truly honor YOU from our hearts and live for YOU! For YOU deserve all the glory, honor, power and praise!!!

In the Name of YESHUA KING of Glory, Amen!
