Scriptures
Torah Parshat Va'etchanan, 3rd Portion (Devarim (Deuteronomy) 4:41-4:49)

Deuteronomy 4:41-49
English Standard Version
Cities of Refuge
41 Then Moses set apart three cities in the east beyond the Jordan, 42 that the manslayer might flee there, anyone who kills his neighbor unintentionally, without being at enmity with him in time past; he may flee to one of these cities and save his life: 43 Bezer in the wilderness on the tableland for the Reubenites, Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites, and Golan in Bashan for the Manassites.
Introduction to the Law
44 This is the law that Moses set before the people of Israel. 45 These are the testimonies, the statutes, and the rules, which Moses spoke to the people of Israel when they came out of Egypt, 46 beyond the Jordan in the valley opposite Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the people of Israel defeated when they came out of Egypt. 47 And they took possession of his land and the land of Og, the king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, who lived to the east beyond the Jordan; 48 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, as far as Mount Sirion[a] (that is, Hermon), 49 together with all the Arabah on the east side of the Jordan as far as the Sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah.

1 Corinthians 1:18-31
English Standard Version
Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach[a] to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards,[b] not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being[c] might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him[d] you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 2:1-5
English Standard Version
Proclaiming Christ Crucified
1 And I, when I came to you, brothers,[a] did not come proclaiming to you the testimony[b] of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men[c] but in the power of God.

Psalm 91:1-8

English Standard Version
My Refuge and My Fortress
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

Observation
1 Chronicles 19 - If you return evil for good, evil will never depart from your house. David was trying to console his friend's son for losing his father but he returned David's goodness with disgrace and so he not only lost an ally but gained an enemy.
1 Chronicles 20 - The anointing of David's life because he followed GOD's calling to be king was powerful, he defeated the giants and they all fell in David's hands and of his servants. We need to consider who is called to be our king and follow him so that we are victors and more than conquerors.
1 Chronicles 21 - Sometimes GOD allows his servants to be wrong to achieve a higher purpose, so don't dwell in your mistakes because GOD will make it right if you continue to trust HIM.
Vs 30 speaks of David's reverent fear of GOD, David was afraid of GOD even though he was close to GOD, he never crossed the boundary of abusing GOD's goodness and his closeness to GOD to do whatever he wants but at one point he also did, when he killed Uriah and stole his wife.
Psalm 91 - Abiding in the shadows of GOD requires us following GOD's leading in our lives. It is knowing every season that we are in the Center in GOD's will.

Application
I will not do anyone bad because GOD is always watching and testing us and if we make a mistake, GOD is gracious to forgive but GOD's enemies are always waiting for us to fall so that they will be able to harm us. I want to follow the head of the house, my Pastor in church, my Papa in the house, but I will not follow any head who is bowing down to the jezebel spirit. I will not dwell in my mistakes because I may not be perfect but my GOD is and HE will always make right the things I've done wrong. I will not abuse the goodness of GOD in my life by using my powers to oppress people under me.
If GOD chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, then I am glad and happy to be in the LORD so that HE can use my story to bring glory to HIM, I don't need to know everything, I only need to know my GOD who knows all things, who epitome of wisdom because HE is wisdom.
I feel the glory and presence of GOD in Mandaue Watchtower because HE recently led me here, some 5 days ago and I chose to follow even though my body is sick trying to adjust to the new that I am coming into but I have more life and energy even as I am adjusting.
