Scriptures
Torah Parshat Va'etchanan, 4th Portion (Devarim (Deuteronomy) 5:1-5:18)

Deuteronomy 5:1-18
English Standard Version
The Ten Commandments
1 And Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the rules that I speak in your hearing today, and you shall learn them and be careful to do them. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 Not with our fathers did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today. 4 The Lord spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire, 5 while I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord. For you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up into the mountain. He said:
6 “‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
7 “‘You shall have no other gods before[a] me.

8 “‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 9 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 10 but showing steadfast love to thousands[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments
11 “‘You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
12 “‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. 15 You shall remember that you were a slave[c] in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
16 “‘Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
17 “‘You shall not murder.[d]

18 “‘And you shall not commit adultery.

Proverbs 21-23

Bible in A Year
1 Chronicles 22 - 1 Chronicles 23; 1 Corinthians 2:6-16; Psalm 91:9-16

1 Chronicles 22
7 David said to Solomon, “My son, I had it in my heart to build a house to the name of the Lord my God. 8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed so much blood before me on the earth. 9 Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his surrounding enemies. For his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. 10 He shall build a house for my name. He shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever.’
11 “Now, my son, the Lord be with you, so that you may succeed in building the house of the Lord your God, as he has spoken concerning you. 12 Only, may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding, that when he gives you charge over Israel you may keep the law of the Lord your God. 13 Then you will prosper if you are careful to observe the statutes and the rules that the Lord commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Fear not; do not be dismayed. 14 With great pains I have provided for the house of the Lord

1 Corinthians 2:6-16
English Standard Version
Wisdom from the Spiri
6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him
10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.[a]

14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Psalm 91:9-16
English Standard Version
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—the Most High, who is my refuge[a]—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him,
because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Observation
In Deuteronomy 5 are the 10 commands written by the LORD's hand Himself in the Tables of Moshe.
In 1 Chronicles 22 GOD has promised me: sons who will build HIS house with my husband and me.  Giving them discretion and understanding so that they may keep the law of the LORD our GOD, then they will always prosper when they continue to keep the commands and laws of the LORD our GOD.
In 1 Corinthians 2, GOD is assuring me that HE has not revealed to me since long ago what GOD was preparing for me, because for the longest time, I thought my dreams to go abroad and build a life and family there was the plan, but GOD's plan for me today is even better and I knew of it only this year as HE revealed a husband to me.
In Psalm 91, GOD is assuring me that because I love HIM, HE will deliver me from all troubles, HE will protect me and because I know HIS Name from an intimate place, HE will always answer when I call on HIM, and in trouble HE will always lead me to victory because HE rescues me, HE will honor me and HE will satisfy me with long life and always show me HIS salvation.

Application
I will put to my heart the Laws of GOD and keep it with all diligence and fear. I will believe every promise GOD is speaking to me today revealing to me what my future will be like because HE has a promise for me and my children to bless and prosper us if we continue to obey HIM and treasure HIM in our hearts as the most valuable of all the things we have in life, HE will always bless us. But my part is to know GOD and continually follow HIS ways and teach HIS ways to my sons who will prosper if they too diligently follow GOD and fear HIS HOLY Name. I will continue to trust GOD's plan for me because it is greater than what I ever thought for myself because HIS love for me runs deeper and wider and greater than I could ever plan for myself. I want to keep loving GOD until HE is my greatest delight and obsession, nothing will ever separate me form my GOD for HIS love is the greatest love of my life.
